Recommended Site: Ugu Bigyan’s House

After a night spent in Casa San Pablo, we headed for the second day of our Laguna Trip. In planning our route (with the help of Mr. Boots Alcantara of Casa San Pablo), we decided to visit Ugu Bigyan’s house in Tiaong Quezon. Although it is not in Laguna anymore, the site is just a little past the border between Laguna and Quezon.

We went there for Ugu Bigyan’s house which exhibits the creation of well, the artist, Ugu Bigyan who is mainly into pottery. The beautiful place housed different artworks that he also sells, like plates, bowls, chime, and even jewelry and wooden ornaments.

The place itself was close to nature. There were several huts in the garden; each has a unique design and arrangement of the pieces of furniture (mostly were chairs and tables). It was definitely a place for peace and relaxation. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to talk to Ugu Bigyan himself because he was busy with his work. I suggest that you set an appointment and also a reservation before going to his house since lunch and merienda can be served only through reservation and to a minimum of five persons.

One Tip: If you are planning to take a tour around Laguna, specifically in San Pablo, you can also head towards Tiaong, Quezon. Start your tour from the farthest destination, which is Ugu Bigyan’s house so that when you go through the tour, you are also heading back to San Pablo. This will prove to be easier when going home to Manila.

How to get there: Visit this site to view the map, and for directions
